Apple and Cinnamon Banitsa

Ingredients
  • 1 pack of Banitsa dough
  • 7 large peeled and grated apples
  • 1 cup semolina
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 packets bourbon vanilla sugar
  • 1 packet cinnamon
  • 100g melted butter + 50ml oil
  • powdered sugar for dusting before serving
Preparation
  1. In a deep bowl, mix the grated apples, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and semolina well.
  2. Brush each sheet of dough with a mixture of melted butter and oil.
  3. For rolling, you need 2 sheets well brushed. Spoon the apple mixture along the long edge.
  4. Roll without squeezing the dough, twist, and arrange in a greased baking dish.
  5. Brush the top with butter and oil, then bake at 250°C for 35 minutes or until golden.
  6. Allow the dessert to cool, cut, and dust with powdered sugar. Serve decorated with a cinnamon stick.
