Ingredients
  • 500 g flour
  • 100 g sugar
  • 7 g dry yeast
  • 250 g fresh milk
  • a pinch of salt
  • 2 vanilla pods
  • 30 g dried cherries
  • 20 g dried plums
  • 40 g almonds
  • 40 g ground walnuts
  • zest of one orange
  • 200 g butter - melted and cooled
  • powdered sugar for dusting
  • marzipan
  • about 20 g butter for greasing the baked stollen
Preparation
  1. Sift the flour into a deep bowl. Add salt, sugar, and vanilla.
  2. Then add the yeast, butter, almonds, and dried fruits. Knead the dough.
  3. Grease the kneaded dough with a little oil and place it in a bowl to rest until it doubles in size, about one hour.
  4. Roll it out, add the walnuts and marzipan, and roll it up in two.
  5. Place in a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Cover with a cloth or foil and let it rise for another hour.
  6. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees, cover the stollen with foil to prevent burning, and bake for 50 minutes to one hour.
  7. While still warm, brush with melted butter and dust generously with powdered sugar.
