Grape Leaf Rolls

Ingredients
  • 300 g rice
  • grape leaves
  • 1 onion
  • oil
  • 2 tsp savory
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • salt
Preparation
  1. If using fresh grape leaves, blanch them in boiling salted water for 2 minutes and then cool in cold water.
  2. Chop the onion finely.
  3. In a pot, heat oil to cover the bottom and add water (about the same amount as oil).
  4. Add the chopped onion to the oil and water, and sauté for about 10 minutes on low heat.
  5. Add 300 g of rice and stir until homogeneous (rice absorbs the liquid).
  6. Add water in a 3:1 ratio (3 parts water to 1 part rice) and salt to taste.
  7. Once the rice is cooked and soft, add savory and black pepper. Let the rice cool and roll the grape leaves.
