Ingredients
  • 500 g flour
  • 5 g baking powder
  • 100 ml olive oil
  • 100 g sugar
  • zest of 1 lemon
  • 200 ml fresh milk
  • 2 eggs
  • a pinch of salt
  • sugar and nuts for sprinkling
Preparation
  1. Make a 'well' in the flour and add sugar, one egg, baking powder, salt, lemon zest, and olive oil. Slowly pour in the olive oil while stirring with a fork.
  2. Gradually add the warmed fresh milk. Knead the dough until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  3. Divide the dough into three parts, shape them into long strips, and braid them. Transfer the braid to a baking pan lined with parchment paper.
  4. Brush the surface of the sweet bread with the second egg mixed with a little water. Sprinkle with hazelnuts, sliced almonds, and sugar.
  5. Bake the dessert until golden in a preheated oven at 180°C for 65-70 minutes.
