Ingredients
  • For the filling:
  • 1 package of phyllo dough
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 5/6 tbsp flour
  • 1 baking powder
  • 3 boxes of lokum
  • For the syrup:
  • 3 and 1/2 cups water
  • 2 and 1/2 cups sugar
  • Vanilla
Preparation
  1. Take one sheet of phyllo dough and spread 3 tbsp of the filling on it.
  2. Place another sheet on top and spread 3 tbsp of filling again.
  3. Arrange pieces of lokum along the narrow side and roll tightly.
  4. Repeat with the remaining sheets in the same manner.
  5. Place in a greased baking dish and bake for about 15 minutes at 180°C.
  6. Pour hot syrup over the banitsa while it is still warm.
